Suicide Squad has divided opinion amongst audiences, poor reviews from most critics but unaffected box-office figures so far. One thing that most people seem to agree on is Margot Robbie’s impressive performance as Harley Quinn. And although it’s already been talked about that she’ll get her own film, possibly with Jared Leto’s Joker, what many fans really want is her character to have a lesbian spin-off with Poison Ivy.

When asked about a Harley and Joker-centred film, Robbie told Tipsy Talk, “I’m trying to make that happen… there’s just so much more to do.”

But fans have started petitions and tweeted their desire to see Harley join hands with Poison Ivy for the spin-off:

While the idea might seem unlikely, DC comics did in fact have the two characters get intimate together in a comic book edition last year:

And DC even confirmed their relationship on twitter:

Earlier this year, THR reported that Robbie had signed up for an in-development Harley Quinn movie. It’s expected that she’ll share the screen with Jared Leto’s The Joker but after his performance was panned by critics, Warner Bros. and DC may well look at other options, one of which could very well be a female centered spin-off with Poison Ivy and Harley embracing their love, at least that’s what the fans will hope for. Maybe even a Christmas film aptly titled The Harley and the Ivy!
