“A million dollars isn’t cool, you know what’s cool? A billion dollars.”

– Justin Timberlake in The Social Network

Perhaps that’s why The Six Million Dollar Man is getting upgraded to The Six Billion Dollar Man in the upcoming theatrical reboot starring Mark Wahlberg.

According to Variety, The Six Billion Dollar Man will be coming to theaters on December 22, 2017. Damián Szifron of Wild Tales has written the screenplay and will also direct. Filming is said to start in September 2016 with Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson and Bob Weinstein producing this adaptation of the 70s TV series.

“I’m thrilled to assemble The Six Billion Dollar Man for the big screen with the likes of Bob Weinstein and Damián Szifron,” said Wahlberg. “We look forward to creating a Steve Austin for the 21st century.”

“Writing the screenplay was such a fantastic ride and embarking on this journey with Mark, Bob and Stephen to take this story to a whole new level is simply spectacular,” said Szifron. “Growing up, these kind of films left an indelible mark on me and now it feels so good to be making one.”

So they have their script, director, and star, but do they have the technology?
