Brilliant mash-up trailer for Lego Batman and Fifty Shades Darker

February isn’t a semi-dumping ground for films anymore with the summer season starting earlier and earlier for some of the years biggest films: last year, Deadpool took the February box office by storm but in 2017 we have a huge array of new films that are set to battle it out for box office supremacy with The Lego Batman Movie and Fifty Shades Darker just two of those vying for audiences.

But while they may seem very different films, perhaps they aren’t so diverse after all – at least that’s what Jimmy Kimmel thinks. Last night on his talk show, the Oscar host debuted a hilarious mash-up trailer that sees the two films come together like never before –

“While obviously these are two very different films targeting very different audiences, they do have some themes in common,” Kimmel said before showing the footage.

Taking the audio from the Fifty Shades trailer and the video from Lego Batman, they mash-up may seem strange but when you see it’s actually rather clever – whether we will ever see Dakota Johnson voice the Joker and Jamie Dornan voice the Dark Knight remains to be seen but for now it’s pretty darn hilarious.
