Michael B. Jordan and Lupita Nyong’o officially join Black Panther

Not too long ago, rumors started to circulate that Michael B. Jordan and Lupita Nyong’o would be joining the cast of Black Panther.

At San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios and director Ryan Coogler made the official announcement that the film will indeed star Jordan as Erik Killmonger and Nyong’o as Nakia. It was additionally announced that Danai Gurira would be joining the cast as Okoye. Chadwick Boseman will of course reprise his role as the titular Black Panther, who made his MCU debut in Captain America: Civil War.

All four of these actors made a surprise appearance at SDCC, which you can watch below:

This wasn’t the only exciting casting news Marvel shared at Comic-Con. Brie Larson was also confirmed to be playing Captain Marvel in a standalone film.

Black Panther hits theaters on February 16, 2018.
