Michelle MacLaren to direct Wonder Woman
As we reported a couple of weeks ago, Michelle MacLaren was in talks to bring Wonder Woman to the screen. The movie, which is due on June 23, 2017, is the third entry – or fourth, if you count Man of Steel – in DC’s ambitious slate of movies that stretches to the year 2020. MacLaren is a veteran director of TV shows, her impressive portfolio boasting the likes of Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead. From the moment Wonder Woman was announced, DC stated they were looking for a female director to helm what would be the studio’s first female-led superhero movie: Now, MacLaren has been officially announced as the film’s director. Wonder Woman will star Gal Gadot as the eponymous superpowered Amazonian, but the character will make her debut in 2016’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.
