Mon Mothma will have larger role in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

The character Mon Mothma only had a minor role in previous Star Wars films. In the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, however, this revolutionary politician will serve a much greater purpose.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Mothma will have a major role in the Star Wars prequel, instructing Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and Capt. Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) to steal the Death Star plans. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy confirmed that Mothma will have a “significantly larger” part and will rise up as a leader “amongst a wide variety of Rebel soldiers that have very differing opinions as to what to do.”
