Disney has announced the release date for its live-action reboot of animated classic Mulan.
The new adaptation of the 1998 original, will hit theaters on November 2nd, 2018.
Disney have also hired new writers for the film with Jurassic World and Avatar‘s Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver set to pen the script.
A director is yet to be announced, however Jason Reed, Chris Bender and Jake Weiner will produce.
Recently, fans formed a petition online to prevent the film from another case of Hollywood whitewashing.
The petition, named “Tell Disney You Don’t Want A Whitewashed Mulan!” has over 100 thousand signatures and urges Disney to cast an appropriate actress to play the Chinese Mulan:

Mulan is just the latest Disney film to get the live-action treatment with The Jungle Book and Cinderella proving successful and the likes of Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King still to come.
