Picking up a cult following for its exhilarating choreography and unrelenting approach, Gareth Evans’ Indonesian set martial arts thriller The Raid is said to be close to an American remake, with film production company Screen Gems – a subsidiary of Sony Pictures – close to securing the rights for the deal. Thankfully Evans will stay on as an executive producer, with directing duties passing over to Patrick Hughes (The Expendables 3). It’s being reported that Chris and Liam Hemsworth are the favourites to land the leading roles.

About Theo Pape

Theo Pape grew up on great movies, created Flickreel, and serves as its Editor-in-chief. He remembers vividly the moment his mind was blown as he witnessed Kevin Costner and Morgan Freeman being catapulted over a castle wall when he was a child.
