New photos and plot details for X-Men: Dark Phoenix

After the disappointment that was X-Men: The Last Stand, it looked like we’d never get a real Dark Phoenix Saga movie. If the new images of Sophie Turner as Jean Grey are any indication, though, writer/director Simon Kinberg just might get it right.

Entertainment Weekly not only revealed an image of Turner’s blazing transformation, but also reported that the film takes place about 10 years after X-Men: Apocalypse. EW additionally hinted that the film will have a “massive twist halfway through that will irrevocably change the course of the franchise.”

X-Men: Dark Phoenix hits theaters on November 2, 2018.
