Following the massive news that Spider-Man will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe – following a deal that had been made by both Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures – the planned release dates for fourPhase Three films in the MCU, which follow the first Spider-Man movie, have been shifted around. Here are the new dates:
- Spider-Man (no actual title has been announced as of yet): July 28, 2017
- Thor: Ragnarock: November 3, 2017
- Black Panther: July 6, 2018
- Captain Marvel: November 2, 2018
- Inhumans: July 12, 2019
This massive shifting around will accommodate Spider-Man’s first feature in the MCU (but not his first appearance: that will most likely be Captain America: Civil War), and these new release dates could give the other movies a little bit more time for post-production – unless, of course, their shooting dates have also been rearranged. It’s interesting to note that the release dates for Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1 and Avengers: Infinity War – Part 2 are unchanged: they will still be released on May 4, 2018 and May 3, 2019 – which means that Inhumans is now, technically speaking, the final film in the Phase Three slate.
