Rooney Mara and Nicholas Hoult have signed on to star in The Discovery, a sci-fi love story set in a world where the existence of the afterlife is scientifically proven. THR also reports that Charlie McDowell, who helmed The One I Love, will direct the film.

Hoult plays the son of the man responsible for this discovery, and Mara plays a woman he falls in love with whose life is tinged by a tragic past.

Lionsgate has announced that the film adaptation of Insurgent, the second book in author Veronica Roth’s Divergent trilogy, has begun production in Atlanta, Georgia. The studio has released the following synopsis for the film:

Following on a similar trend to other young adult novel adaptations, Divergent – starring Shailene Woodley and Theo James, is set to turn the three-part Veronica Roth book series into four movies, splitting the final novel into two movies, much in the same way Twilight, The Hunger Games, and even Harry Potter had done previously. The final two films, to be named Allegiant Part 1 and Part 2, will be hitting our screens in 2016 and 2017 respectively.
