Nintendo announce release date for SNES Classic
Following the success of last year’s NES Classic Edition, Nintendo is now doing one better by releasing a new SNES. Today, the video game company officially announced that the SNES Classic Edition will launch on September 29th.
It’s retailing at $79.99 and includes 21 pre-installed classic games as well as a new exclusive, with intergalactic adventure Star Fox 2, the sequel to the popular original, making its debut.
“While many people from around the world consider the Super NES to be one of the greatest video game systems ever made, many of our younger fans never had a chance to play it. With the Super NES Classic Edition, new fans will be introduced to some of the best Nintendo games of all time, while longtime fans can relive some of their favorite retro classics with family and friends.” said Doug Bowser, Nintendo’s Vice President.

- Super Castlevania IV™
- Super Ghouls ’n Ghosts®
- Super Mario Kart™
- Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars™

- Super Metroid™
- Super Punch-Out!! ™
- Yoshi’s Island™
Included with the console are one HDMI cable, one USB charging cable with AC adapter and two wired controllers for playing multiplayer games.
