Pacific Rim 2 has had a bumpy ride, going through numerous delays. Fans of the 2013 action flick will be happy to know, however, that Legendary’s long-awaited sequel is coming out on February 23, 2018.
Universal Pictures made this announcement in a press release and also confirmed that John Boyega of Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the film’s leading man.
Pacific Rim 2 will be directed by Daredevil season 1 showrunner Steven S. DeKnight. Guillermo del Toro, Thomas Tull, and Mary Parent are returning to produce the followup, along with Boyega and Femi Oguns. The screenplay will be penned by Derek Connolly of Jurassic World.
Now that the film has an official release date, we are cancelling the apocalypse!
