Patrick Stewart retires from the X-Men series

Despite suggesting he wouldn’t be joining Hugh Jackman in retirement from the X-Men series, Patrick Stewart has now come out to say that Logan will be the last time he will star as Professor X. The news comes via EW, who report that Stewart confirmed the news during an appearance on SiriusXM, alongside Logan co-star Jackman and director James Mangold. In Stewart’s words:

“there will never be a better, a more perfect, a more sensitive, emotional, and beautiful way of saying au revoir to Charles Xavier than this movie. So, I told [Hugh] that same evening, ‘I’m done too. It’s all over.'”

Logan opens on the 1st of March in the UK and 2 days later if you are US-based. Here’s our full review.
