Paul King returning to direct Paddington sequel

After the first Paddington was a critical and box office hit, it’s no surprise to hear that a second film is in the works. It’s also no surprise to learn that co-writer/director Paul King is set to return to helm the sequel as Deadline reports that he is now onboard.

King will work alongside regular collaborator Simon Farnaby to create the sequel’s narrative. Not much else is known about the film: but we can expect Hugh Bonneville’s Mr. Brown, Sally Hawkins’ Mrs. Brown and Julie Walters’ Mrs. Bird to return in some capacity.

Paddington 2 is expected to hit screens in late 2017.
