Planet Earth Season Two Announced

Planet Earth was a TV phenomenon back in 2006, delivering the most expensive and mind-blowing nature documentary series the world had ever seen. Although it was only 11 episodes long, the BBC miniseries had a huge impact on HD television and television in general. After almost ten years, audiences are finally going to get a explore Planet Earth even further.

According to Variety, BBC has officially confirmed Planet Earth II. David Attenborough is set to narrate this six-part miniseries, which will delve into “the characteristics of Earth’s most iconic habitats and the extraordinary ways animals survive within them.” The Atlantic also reports that the series was partially shot using drones, filmed over three years.

Planet Earth II will be hitting the small screen later this year. It’s currently unknown where US audiences will be able to watch it, however.
