Pokemon Go may get movie treatment
Due to the early success of Pokemon Go, the newest game in the franchise. Hollywood is looking to adapt the game into a live action Pokemon film.
According to Deadline, Legendary Pictures – who recently made Warcraft – is close to securing a deal to land the rights to the new Pokemon movie.
We found out in April that “a top-secret auction” for the film rights was underway with Legendary, Warner Bros. and Sony all interested. But now it looks like Legendary have won the race with Chronicle writer Max Landis expected to pen the screenplay.
With the success of Niantic’s Pokemon Go, already earning $14.04 million, according to Superdata Research analysts, it’s no surprise to see a film adaptation in development.
We also know that a new animated Pokémon movie is expected to be released later this year.
