Over the past month or so, there’s been much news regarding casting for the new Power Rangers movie. So far, the cast includes Dacre Montgomery as the Red Ranger, RJ Cyle as the Blue Ranger, Ludi Lin as the Black Ranger, and Naomi Scott as the Pink Ranger. The characters themselves have yet to be revealed, though. If you were hoping to see rebooted versions of Kimberly, Billy, and the rest of the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, you may be a little disappointed. According to Collider, each Ranger has been renamed in a completely new team.

Here are the names of each new Ranger and the Zorgs they’ll be teamed up with:

  • Callum Oliver – The Red Ranger/Tyrannosaurus
  • Priya Patel – The Pink Ranger/Pterodactyl
  • Brian Olson – The Blue Ranger/Triceratops
  • Oscar Fernandez – The Black Ranger/Mastodon
  • Teyana Jones – The Yellow Ranger/Sabre-tooth Tiger

The only one listed above that’s yet to be cast is the Yellow Ranger. There’s also still no word on if the Green Ranger will be making an appearance. However, the old school costumes from the original series are said to pop up somewhere in the film.

In addition to a change in the character’s names, the film itself is also getting a new title. It will now be called Saban’s Power Rangers “as series co-creator and business magnate Haim Saban looks to attach his name to the picture.”

Saban’s Power Rangers is currently set to come out on January 13, 2017.
