Production was shutdown for The Maze Runner: The Death Cure after star Dylan O’Brien was injured last March. WorkSafeBC reported that the young actor suffered from a “concussion, facial fracture and lacerations.” 20th Century Fox has further delayed production to give O’Brien more time to recover.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, O’Brien’s injuries were “more severe than initially expected.”
“His injuries are very serious and he needs more time to recover,” said O’Brien’s publicist Jennifer Allen.
Fox said in a statement, “The resumption of principal photography on Maze Runner: The Death Cure has been further delayed to allow Dylan O’Brien more time to fully recover from his injuries. We wish Dylan a speedy recovery and look forward to restarting production as soon as possible.”
The Maze Runner: The Death Cure was originally set to come out on Feb 17, 2017, but the release date will obviously be pushed back now.
