The Hateful Eight was originally set for a grand opening on December 24th at Los Angeles’ Cinemarama Dome, but Star Wars: The Force Awakens has reportedly stole its spot and iconic director Quentin Tarantino is “pissed” off about it.
According to Tarantino, Star Wars will get an extended run and steal the spot for his film. “It was real bad news and it f***ing pissed me off,” the director told Howard Stern “They are going out of their way to f*** me.”
ArcLight, who are the chain that own the theater, told Disney they would screen The Hateful Eight as planned but Disney weren’t pleased as they threatened to pull J.J. Abrams’ film from the theater chain entirely, “It’s vindictive, it’s mean, and it’s extortion.” Tarantino said.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is released this Friday, December 18.
