Quicksilver to return for X-Men: Apocalypse
In X-Men: Days of Future Past, the scene where Quicksilver (Evan Peters) takes out a group of armed security guards in the bowels of the Pentagon was almost everyone’s favourite part of the movie. The character’s complete coolness, all set in dazzling slow-motion, may end up being the superhero movie moment of 2014 – and now, it looks like he’s set to return for the next installment in the franchise, X-Men: Apocalypse. Already deep into pre-production, the sequel will complete the ‘trilogy’ of films starring the X-Men: First Class cast, with rumours of Charles Xavier’s (played James McAvoy) baldness finally showing itself – but Evan Peter’s own involvement as Quicksilver is still unknown, with second-unit director Brian Smrz stating, ‘ I’d love to do a Quicksilver as a solo film because there’s a lot to enjoy with that character’. So may we eventually see a solo film, despite next year’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron‘s own version of the character being thrown into the mix? How about a movie where the two of them fight it out for the coolest, fastest rendition of Quicksilver?
