Reshoots planned for Avengers: Age of Ultron
Although Avengers: Age of Ultron is planned for an April release date, the film will undergo reshoots this coming January. Director Joss Whedon has made this decision in order to add more action to the final film – although we can’t imagine a franchise known for levelling entire cities to be lacking in that department. According to The Daily Mail, actors Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Paul Bettany, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hiddleston and Mark Ruffalo have all been requested to clear a two-week slot in the first month of 2015 in order to complete the reshoots. The nature of these revised scenes are, naturally, unknown to us, which should come as no surprise since Whedon’s wrath was irked when Idris Elba – who plays Heimdall in the Thor movies – revealed that he and Hiddleston would be making an appearance in Age of Ultron, so secrecy levels will most likely be dialled up to 11. Despite the closeness to release of these reshoots, there should be no cause for alarm; for a blockbuster of this size, the sheer budget and workforce involved means Whedon can probably mess around with his picture right up until the last minute. This also follows news that Avengers: Infinity War Part I and Part II may begin shooting, back-to-back, at the end of 2015.
