Star Wars 8 director Rian Johnson has shared two new set images to mark the half-way stage of filming. He posted the pictures on Tumblr with the caption: “Good. Bad. I’m the guy with the microfiber sham. I can’t believe we’re halfway through the shoot. (We’re halfway through the shoot!)” Check them out below:

The first image shows Johnson polishing the windscreen of what looks like an X-Wing fighter.

While the second appears to be a shot of a First Order drone working at a control panel, with a familiar design that recalls the Death Star from ‘A New Hope’ and ‘Return of the Jedi’.

We know that the movie will begin right where The Force Awakens ended, however unfortunately these images still don’t reveal much about what to expect from the film and its plot. But with the shoot now half-way through, we can expect many updates soon.

Star Wars Episode VIII hits theaters on 15 December 2017.
