Ricky Gervais is the latest star to join the vocal talent of Blazing Samurai.

The comedian is set to play a “nefarious feline warlord” in the animated film inspired by Mel Brooks’ classic, Blazing Saddles (1974).

Gervais’ character, named Ika Chu, plans to take over the town of Kakamucho and will stop at nothing for absolute, criminal power. Chu’s only opponent is Hank — voiced by Michael Cera — a warrior dog who dreams of becoming a samurai.

The impressive cast also includes Samuel L. Jackson, George Takei, Gabriel Iglesias, Djimon Hounsou and Aasif Mandvi.

Blazing Samurai opens in the U.S. on August 4, 2017 and is directed by Chris Bailey and Mark Keotsier, with a script by Nate Hopper and Ed Stone.
