Robert Downey Jr confirms Iron Man 4

It’s official: Robert Downey Jr has confirmed Iron Man 4. Speaking on Ellen earlier today, the megastar said, ‘I know there’s going to be a bunch more Marvel movies, and they have big ideas of how to do it best. And we’re in the middle of negotiating.’ The host nudged further about Iron Man 4 happening, to which Downey Jr replied, ‘yes’. This follows remarks made by the actor that he would only do a fourth Iron Man film if Mel Gibson directed, a comment which he went on to explain as ‘offhanded’ on the show. No one is yet attached to direct, and a cast has of course yet to be announced – but with its star now officially attached, expect the movie to be released sometime during Marvel’s ‘Phase 3’ series of films.
