Robert Downey Jr. open to Iron Man 4 return

Robert Downey Jr. says he’s open to returning for another Iron Man movie.

The actor told ABC’s Nightline: “I feel like I could do one more.”

This does contradict Downey Jr.’s recent comments though when he told USA Today that Iron Man 4 probably isn’t even “on the cards,” and that Civil War is his “little Iron Man 4.”

Iron Man director Jon Favreau revealed to IGN that he couldn’t imagine the franchise continuing without Downey Jr.

“I can’t imagine how they could but that doesn’t mean that they can’t. I just can’t wrap my head around that one,” Favreau said. “To me he’s the one element that has unified all of it. That being said, nothing would surprise me, but for me it would be a hard pill to swallow and big shoes to fill.”

So Favreau certainly wants to see Robert Downey Jr. reprise his role as Tony Stark in another standalone movie but until that day possibly comes, you can currently see him in action in Captain America: Civil War.
