The Wrap is reporting that Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin, the director/producer team who wrote the original Stargate movie together, will be returning to helm a reboot/reimagining of the franchise, with the hope that this will lead to a trilogy of films. The original film lead to the long-running Stargate SG-1 TV series, so it seems kind of fitting that the franchise will see a return to the big screen.
