Rooney Mara and Nicholas Hoult have signed on to star in The Discovery, a sci-fi love story set in a world where the existence of the afterlife is scientifically proven. THR also reports that Charlie McDowell, who helmed The One I Love, will direct the film.
Hoult plays the son of the man responsible for this discovery, and Mara plays a woman he falls in love with whose life is tinged by a tragic past.
You can see Hoult star in Kill Your Friends which hits screens next week and he’s also back with his mutant colleagues in X-Men: Apocalypse, out in May next year. Mara is on screens now in Pan and stars with Cate Blanchett in the acclaimed Carol, which is out next month.
Shooting for The Discovery will start in January 2016.
