Rooney Mara May Still be in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Reboot

It was recently reported that The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo may be getting a reboot with Alicia Vikander taking over the lead role for Rooney Mara. According to E! Online, however, Mara is still involved in the project, which is said to be based on The Girl in the Spider’s Web.

“As far as I know I’m doing it until someone tells me otherwise,” said Mara. “I’m doing it unless someone tells me that I’m not—and then I still might do it.”

Who would you rather see play Lisbeth Salander in the next movie, Mara or Vikander? In a strange coincidence, Mara, who is starring in Carol, and Vikander, who is starring in The Danish Girl, will likely both compete against each other at this year’s Academy Awards. Of course it’s still unknown if they’ll be categorized as lead actresses or supporting actresses.
