Russell Crowe looks set to join Tom Cruise for Universal Pictures’ The Mummy.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Crowe is in talks to play Jekyll in the reboot. The Oscar-winning actor is also being eyed for his own spinoff in Universal’s shared monster universe with Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
Cruise plays the leading role in The Mummy reboot, with Kingsman actress Sofia Boutella on board as the villain.
Star Trek writer Alex Kurtzman is at the helm and we can expect to see The Mummy, most likely with Crowe involved, in June 2017.
