American Honey star Sasha Lane joining the anticipated film has joined the cast of the upcoming reboot of Dark Horse comics’ legendary anti-hero Hellboy, The Hollywood Reporter says.
Stranger Things star David Harbour is portraying the titular hero in the film, taking over from Ron Perlman who played the character in the previous installments, and it’s reported that Lane will portray Alice Monaghan who in the comics is described as a “redheaded, freckled woman born in 1950’s Ireland”.
Neil Marshall, acclaimed director of Dog Soldiers, The Descent and some episodes of Game of Thrones, is helming the film with Ian McShane (John Wick 2) playing Professor Bloom and Milla Jovovich (Resident Evil) playing the film’s villain, Nimue the Blood Queen.
Previously released in 2004 and 2008 and directed by Guillermo del Toro, the Hellboy series grossed around $260million. A third film was on the cards but sadly didn’t come to fruition.
The film is set to start filming soon with a possible release of the film in 2018.
