According to Hollywood Reporter, Sony is looking to launch a new cinematic franchise of the cult favourite TV show, Charlie’s Angels with Elizabeth Banks in talks to direct.
Banks, who has demonstrated a gift for comedy and drama as an actress, made her feature directorial debut with Pitch Perfect 2, which made from it’s opening almost $70 million domestic, giving her the second-largest opening for a female director.
Assuming she makes a deal to direct Charlie’s Angels, she’ll be part of the team coming up with another new take on the popular franchise which featured Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu and Cameron Diaz as it’s three main stars 15 years ago.
