Sony’s 2015 back on track after Hotel Transylvania 2 storms September

It looks as though Sony Pictures Entertainment’s rather lacklustre year of film releases might finally be coming to an end, as Hotel Transylvania 2 has made history by setting a new September opening weekend record. According to Box Office Mojo‎, the film took an estimated $47.5 million, which is almost $5 million more than the film’s predecessor and previous record holder. Coupled with the fact that the film has an “A-” CinemaScore, things are looking good for this animated feature starring Adam Sandler as the voice of Dracula.

It’s a welcome turn up for the books at Sony, as they will now look to The Walk, Goosebumps and the latest Bond installment, Spectre to help turn around a rather disappointing 2015 up until this point.
