Carrie Fisher has admitted to having an affair with Harrison Ford while filming Star Wars. Fisher revealed the encounter in her new memoir, The Princess Diarist, which details the three-month affair with Ford while shooting the first Star Wars movie. They even spent their first night together following a birthday party for creator George Lucas.
“It was so intense. It was Han and Leia during the week, and Carrie and Harrison during the weekend”, she told People Magazine.
“I looked over at Harrison. A hero’s face – a few strands of hair fell over his noble, slightly furrowed brow. How could you ask such a shining specimen of a man to be satisfied with the likes of me?” she wrote in the memoir.
“I was so inexperienced, but I trusted something about him. He was kind”, she added.
“It was Han and Leia during the week, and Carrie and Harrison during the weekend.”
After stumbling upon her diaries from during her time on the set of Star Wars, Fisher explained that she felt it was now the right time to admit the truth: “It’s been 40 years,” she said. Harrison Ford has so far declined to comment on the affair. The Princess Diarist is released on 22 November 2016.
