“Wonder” scribe Jack Thorne set for Star Wars: Episode IX rewrites

It’s all change in a galaxy far, far away as news reaches the film world today of a new writer coming aboard the Death Star/Rebel Alliance for the upcoming Star Wars: Episode IX – in the form of Jack Thorne.

The Hollywood Reporter states that British writer Thorne is to perform re-write duties on the script after director Colin Trevorrow (Jurassic World) and his co-writer Derek Connolly had written the first drafts. Sources tell the site that a “fresh pair of eyes” was needed though it’s unclear just how extensive any changes will be.

Thorne has recently written Oscar hopeful Wonder which stars Jacob Tremblay, Owen Wilson and Julia Roberts, as well as worked on Philip K. Dick television series Electric Sheep and BBC’s upcoming adaptation of Phillip Pullman’s His Dark Materials.
