Star Wars: Rogue One won’t get a sequel
Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has confirmed that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story won’t get a sequel.
Kennedy told Empire Magazine that regardless of how well Rogue One performs at the box office, the studio has no plans to create a follow-up film.
Director Gareth Edwards made similar comments, suggesting that the sequel is effectively the original 1977 Star Wars and is already “directed by George Lucas.”
Rogue One is expected to have a strong opening weekend, with box office projections at a domestic debut of $130 million.
