Star Wars: The Force Awakens has broken another record to become the UK’s fastest-selling Blu-ray of all time.

The Blu-ray copies have sold more than 530,000 units in its first week of release which sees the film overtake Skyfall which originally held the record after it sold 522,000 in its first week in 2013.

The Force Awakens is also the fastest-selling Star Wars film in the series, selling 1.2m units in Blu-ray and DVD format which beats The Phantom Menace’s 1.17m in 2000.

The Force Awakens still has someway to beat Avatar though, which remains the top-selling Blu-ray release ever, shifting 1.2m copies.
