Star Wars: The Last Jedi – First screening reaction reveals Rey’s father?

Disney CEO Bob Iger has seen an early screening of Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi and has given his reaction, possibly revealing a spoiler in the process.

Hannah Sampson, associate editor of Skift, has quoted Iger’s reaction to the sequel, which may have just revealed Rey’s father as Luke Skywalker.

Sampson took to Twitter to share the Disney CEO’S reaction, claiming that “he saw The Last Jedi last week”:

I just re-listened and he absolutely said he saw The Last Jedi last week. Maybe it's a very early cut.

It’s the quote “he thinks it’s a great chapter in the iconic Skywalker family saga” which has many to believe that Rey is a Skywalker.

that quote is literally all he said, but that is an interpretation that I'm seeing.

Although Iger’s words can be interpreted in such a way, we shouldn’t read too much into it. As ultimately, if it’s true that Rey is Luke’s daughter, then why would the Disney president even hint at revealing such a well kept-secret?

We’ll find out for sure when Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi hits theaters on December 15th.
