Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer lands this week and here’s what we know

UPDATE: Daisy Ridley and Mark Hamill teased a “big announcement” on Good Morning America, which was a new “Force for Change” campaign and competition.

The first Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer is reportedly arriving this week and here’s what we know about it. It’s already been strongly rumored that the trailer will make its debut at the Star Wars Celebration event this Friday, and it seems likely considering that The Force Awakens had its full trailer released at 2015’s same event.

According to Star Wars News Net, a “preview” of the film will certainly be shown to the Celebration’s panel on Friday, and it “will definitely have the ‘full trailer’ feel, not just a brief teaser.”

ScreenRant is also confident of a trailer arriving at the event, although doesn’t know much else beyond that:

“Specifics beyond that are not mentioned, but several will be encouraged by this development. Lucasfilm has kept an ironclad lock on any official reveals up to this point, so it arguably would have been disappointing if the trailer was simply a short ‘roll call’ of the main characters – similar to the announcement trailer for Episode VII.”

The footage is expected to be more substantial than what Disney shareholders watched last month, and we can expect the trailer to arrive publicly soon after the Celebration.
