Stephen King has seen It and here’s his verdict

Stephen King’s It is coming to the big screen for the first time this year, and its writer, King, has now seen the movie and given his opinion.

It producer Seth Grahame-Smith has revealed on Instagram that King saw a screening of the film and thinks it’s “wonderful”:

It’s good news for fans after King openly announced his dislike for 1980’s The Shining:

“With Kubrick’s The Shining I felt that it was very cold. When it opened, a lot of the reviews weren’t very favorable and I was one of those reviewers.” he said.

The remake of It has however been a troubled production with stars and directors dropping out.

True Detective director Cary Fukunaga was originally on board with The Revenant‘s Will Poulter signed up to star, but due to scheduling conflicts, both director and actor left the project.

Mama director Andrés Muschietti and Allegiants Bill Skarsgård were called in as replacements. And you can see It in theaters on September 8.
