Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining is getting a movie sequel.
According to Tracking Board, Akiva Goldsman, who won an oscar for 2001’s A Beautiful Mind, is working on a screen adaptation of Stephen King’s spinoff novel Doctor Sleep.
The story is set decades after The Shining, as Jack Torrance’s troubled son Danny begins showing signs of psychic abilities. Those powers link Danny to a 12-year-old girl named Abra Stone, who is in danger of falling into the clutches of a paranormal mob.
Doctor Sleep was released by Stephen King just 3 years ago and will now be adapted onto the big screen by Warner Bros.
