Stephen Merchant joins Wolverine 3

It seems the British are invading: not only has British acting stalwart Richard E. Grant joined the cast of Wolverine 3, Deadline are reporting that comedian / writer Stephen Merchant has also joined the film in an as-yet unknown role.

Merchant is responsible for co-writing shows such as The Office and Extras with Ricky Gervais, before also striking out on his own to some degree in solo parts in I Give it a Year and The Big Bang Theory. He joins Hugh Jackman as the titular Wolverine, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, and Richard E. Grant who is supposedly playing a ‘mad scientist’ type; will Merchant be joining the leagues of evil? His voiceover role as the villain in the video game Portal 2 shows that he’s clearly up to the task.

Wolverine 3 is slated for release on March 3, 2017.
