Steve Jobs biopic dropped by Sony

Another cog has fallen off the Danny Boyle-directed Steve Jobs movie. The film has just been dropped by its production company Sony, but it’s unclear as to just why. Over recent months, the movie has gone through numerous casting changes; first Leonardo DiCaprio left the lead role, followed by Christian Bale. Michael Fassbender has been heavily rumoured to step in as the next Jobs, while Seth Rogen is still attached to star as Steve Wozniak. This drop from Sony may have been more problematic for the picture, if Universal were not already looking to pick it up; with a deal nearly in place with them, according to Deadline, this increasingly troubled biopic looks like it will eventually get round to principal photography. The question whether it’ll make it to cinemas, despite these constant drawbacks, doesn’t seem to be an ‘if’, but a ‘when?’
