Steve Jobs Pulled from Over 2,000 Theaters
Despite earning critical praise and being one of the most buzzed about movies of October, Steve Jobs failed to leave much of an impression at the box office. Opening in only four select theaters during its first week, the film impressively made half a million dollars. Upon expanding into wide release, however, it only grossed roughly $7 million dollars at the domestic box office. Its numbers only declined the following week, making about $2 million. Due to its poor turnout, Steve Jobs has been pulled from 2,072 movie theaters, according to The Verge.
To this date, the film has made $16 million on a $30 million budget. It’s unlikely Steve Jobs will at least break even by the time it completely disappears from theaters. Now the studio will probably rush the film out to DVD and streaming in hopes of giving it another life.
