Straight Outta Compton Actor to Star in 24 Reboot

After the success of the 24: Live Another Day miniseries, Fox decided to keep the action franchise going with 24: Legacy. It’s been confirmed that Kiefer Sutherland’s Jack Bauer will not be the focus of this reboot. According to Variety, Corey Hawkins will instead take center stage in the 12-episode series.

Hawkins previously portrayed Dr. Dre in Straight Outta Compton. In 24: Legacy, Hawkins will play Eric Carter, a war veteran who returns home to Virgina and endures one long day. This spin-off of sorts will also star a female lead who has yet to be cast.

Hawkins is certainly one of our most promising rising stars as he’ll also be appearing in Kong: Skull Island next year.

24: Legacy is currently set to begin airing sometime in 2016.
