Street Fighter writer scripting Top Gun 2

Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li writer Justin Marks has been recruited by Paramount and Skydance to pen the script for Top Gun 2. Tom Cruise will return to star in the sequel to the film which he appeared in alongside Kelly McGillis and Val Kilmer all the way back in 1986. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marks will begin work on the project after finishing his remake of The Jungle Book for Disney. He will be joined also by a retuning Jerry Bruckheimer as producer, alongside Dana Goldberg (Star Trek Into Darkness) and David Ellison (Mission: Impossible 5). Bruckheimer has confirmed that the story will follow Maverick fighting drones, and in turn proving the relevance of good old-fashioned pilots. Top Gun 2 does not currently have a release date.
