Suicide Squad 2 has officially found its director and – surprise, surprise – it’s not Mel Gibson. Gavin O’Connor will officially direct the sequel and also act as a screenwriter.

O’Connor previously brought us The Accountant and Warrior. There’s still no official date set for the release of Suicide Squad 2. According to Den of Geek, the film could be finished in time for a summer 2019 release. O’Connor is also reportedly attached and produce a Green Hornet reboot.
