Disney has lined up a Suicide Squad star to play Genie in the upcoming live-action remake of Aladdin.
According to Deadline, Will Smith is currently in talks with the studio to play the comedy character, who was memorably voiced by the great Robin Williams in the 1992 animated original.
The Men in Black actor was also in talks to star in Tim Burton’s Dumbo remake, but the deal fell through over schedule clashes.

Disney is yet to cast the main roles of Aladdin and Jasmine but Director Guy Ritchie has promised not to whitewash the remake.
The live-action reboot will remain a musical with production set to start in July. A release date is yet to be announced.
