Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 casts a new Shredder

Despite last year’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles receiving a critical lashing, the train for the sequel chugs relentlessly ever on. And now we’ve learned that the Turtles’ biggest foe, Shredder, will once again appear in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 – albeit played by a different actor.

Portrayed by Tohoru Masamune in the first film, the character was mainly a CG creation once he had donned that iconic armour. Now, according to Variety, he will be played by Brian Tee. Tee is probably best known for appearing in The Wolverine alongside Hugh Jackman as Noburo – but what has led Shredder to being recast? There are no details on that front as of yet, but Tee will be joining Megan Fox, Will Arnett and William Fichtner, along with other newcomers Stephen Amell as Casey Jones and Tyler Perry as Baxter Stockman, while David Green is on board as director.
