Terminator 6 is officially heading into production next year
With Deadpool director Tim Miller officially attached to Terminator 6 and James Cameron overseeing the project, Terminator 6 will officially begin shooting in March, according to Omega Underground, shooting will take place in Spain and Hungary.
Not much is known about the sixth instalment apart from some minor details. Arnold Schwartzenegger and Linda Hamilton will reprise their previous roles. The soft reboot will ’embrace the characters’ age’ and reintroduce a new young female lead character, possibly to wipe away the muck that was Terminator Genisys, as neither Jai Courtney or Emilia Clarke will come back. James Cameron said this Terminator will completely ignore all Terminator movies after Terminator 2: Judgement Day.
Considering the enormous task of filming four Avatar sequels simultaneously, we’re not sure how much James Cameron will be involved in Terminator 6 and its story, for example when Genisys was released he publicly gave it his seal of approval – which meant something if not much. With the failure of Terminator Salvation in 2009 and Terminator Genisys in 2015, is it really worth trying to revive a franchise that hasn’t had a good movie since 1991?
Terminator 6 is set for release July 26th, 2019.
